    Isla (see-scape), 2010
Oil, nails and fish hooks on Jute on plywood
    200 x 800 cms

The production of that piece took around 6 month of work with the help of 30 assistants divided in different sessions of work. They were hammering approximately 500 000 fish-hooks. The obsessive process of creation reinforce the meaning of the work, inspired in issues like Isolation, emigration, Collective fantasies and obsessions, etc..

This series of fish-hooks paintings combine the sesibility of different techniques knowledges in relation with our senses and perception. In the distance it looks like a drawing or etching, more near we can appreciate the brushstrokes of the oil painting, and very close we feel the relieve  with the sensorial power and aggressiveness of the objects in its sculpture condition.
