Dialogusphobia (a lump in the throat)
2011
Bronze
30 cm diameter x 79 cm
Based on the famous work by Edvard Munch, “The Scream”, this piece presents an interesting balance between external minimalist simplicity and organic interior space, shaped like a human throat. The empty space inside the latter and the tension that imbues its structure evoke the pent–up silence preceding the action of screaming; as well as self–censorship, and the fear of dialogue, or of untrammeled expression, that may afflict an individual or a social milieu.
